This weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting the Good Neighbor Vet Clinic, a mobile veterinary service offering cost-effective and accessible pet care. When we arrived at the Good Neighbor Vet Clinic's pop-up location, we had to wait in line for about 15-30 minutes, as the service operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Despite the wait, the team was efficient and friendly, ensuring all pets received the attention they deserved. We brought two of our three dogs who were overdue for vaccines. Each dog received the DAPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, had their weight taken, and underwent a basic wellness exam.
One of the most memorable parts of our visit was the interaction with the vet regarding our older dog, Cain. Cain has a heart murmur, which we were already aware of, but the vet took the time to explain the rating scale for murmurs. We learned that Cain's murmur scored a 5/6 on their rating scale, indicating a loud murmur due to a small hole in one of the heart valves. This education was incredibly helpful, giving us a deeper understanding of Cain's condition and what it means for his health moving forward.
